Did you know we practically invented Lambswool?

When we had a seven storey satanic spinning mill in the north of England (where else?) we were making 100% Lambswool for the British Army from the Boer War onwards. We used to make a lot of red and then sensibly changed to khaki – it was easier to dye.

Italian Merino V Close 300 We did the very first ever trials to make wool machine washable, we were the first to blend it with polyester – what heresy!

Oh the stories……. Anyway, now we sit in fields of daisies and choose colours for our ladies and mens knitwear – no more oil and grease thank you – it’s all sketches and mood boards.

If we had to do one product it would be knitwear – we LOVE it. It’s the hardest thing to make but the best when it is right.

We use only UK and European knitters and yarn spinners for every aspect of all our mens knitwear.

So we use Italian Extrafine Merino for our merino mens jumpers, Scottish Cashmere and sometimes Italian Cashmere for our luxurious Mighty Cashmere Jumper, British Lambswool, Irish Donegal Tweeds, Scottish Shetland Wool, all of it from people we have known for far too long.

Our fine guage tipped v neck mens lambswool jumper and heavier guage Half Zip Lambswool are the biggest sellers – we do new colours, you keep buying ‘em.

Our Cashmere is the real deal – not the sweepings up from some Far East factory floor – we use the long, pure, Mongolian White fibre, spun in Scotland or Italy using mountain water and caressed by the Gods.

Sparing you the details of the staple length of the fibre and the twist levels in the yarn suffice to say that we give you a rich heritage of expertise in our knitwear - it lives, it breathes and if you look after it will reward you with longevity as well as warmth and good looks.

We make our knitwear in England, Scotland, Portugal and the Czech Republic.
