2012 predictions
OK forget resolutions, no need to hang a millstone around your neck at the start of the year.
Relax, January is hard enough, wait 'till Feb. the Daffs are up and the mornings are lighter - it gets easier to either fulfil those resolutions or you've forgotten about them anyway.
So instead let's do 'Predictions'. Despite 2011 having too many odd numbers in it, it turned out to be an incredible year - not if you are a European politician or Greek of course but blimey those Arabs - good on 'em.
2012 could be the same -
Imran Khan voted in earlier than expected to run Pakistan - the only politician not corrupt there and if he survives it could be a good thing.
The new lad in North Korea is young and educated in the west so lets hope he usurps his puppet masters and brings about the end of the Middle Ages there.
England should remain the top cricket team in the world, World Nr 1, Numero Uno, the Boss Team (needs repetition to believe it.)
If Tom Croft captains England then they should win the Six Nations, otherwise it will be Wales. The recently great Ireland are finished.
The Butcher of Damascus - Mr. Assad - will be deposed and is unlikely to be opening his Christmas pressies this December.
The Olympics will be a success, the Brits will get behind it (and behind the VIP's and Politicians in the Q for seats)
Team GB will do well in the Olympics and finish 4th (that's good) - although beats me the whole running, skipping and jumping into a sandpit - this is a sport?
Greece will be leaving the EC, Sarkozy will be ousted (for buying English Cheese) and lets hope the all powerful Merkel doesn't start visiting Poland a lot.
The coalition will fall apart when we discover Clegg has been cleaning shoes for Cameron and getting sweets from the tuck shop for him.
The Queen will have another jubilee bless 'er
......................and Obama will lose his battle to elevate American political discourse above the braying of corporate sponsored donkeys.
Otherwise the leaves will appear on the trees in April, the bluebells will fill the woods, the sun will rise and fall each day, July's fields will be hard till the October rain and the tide will swell and subside morning and night - you know, our twittering and wittering amounts to little really.
Best of Luck for 2012.
