Jack Russell Polo 2011 match fixtures

2011 Season.

Welcome back for another season of fast paced, dangerous madness - and some very good Polo too.
The redoubtable Mr William Will Brasher has returned refreshed and invigorated after 5 months in New Zealand (we thought he was in Argentina - no wonder our mail was returned.)
He has grown, his hair is still the same and he is an even better player (it's not possible I hear you cry.)

So here we go with new blankets for the ponies and hope in our hearts. This season you can follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates and gossip.

25th and 26th June.

Jack Russell entered the Seavil Bowl at Rutland polo club 2 goal.
On the first day we played Rathbones a local team and beat them 8 goals to 6!

A really open game resulting in the jack Russell team taking the game strongly.
Sunday we got into the final and played a team from Leadenham with two Argentine professionals.

It was a very fast intense game in the heat and we ended up losing 5 goals to 6! Such a shame.

However, a great weekend for the Jack Russell team just nipped around the ankles in the end!

28th and 29th May Ranksboro

We played a team from Beverly each day and lost!

The first day 4-6 and the second day 3-7!

We don't like losing hence the short report!

21st 22nd May - Leadenham Polo Club

The first game was a tough side but our team worked very well together ending up comfortably winning 7-4. Good result!

Sunday in the final and with a very good turn out of people to watch we set out in hope for the cup.

However after an intense game on a hard ground we lost 2 goals to 4. Ending up 2nd out of 6 teams.
Team - Henry Browne, Will Brasher, Martin Reason and Alex Boucher.

May 14th and 15th The Twidale Cup & The Rutland Cup.

Jack Russell Polo team doubled up and took on both tournaments at Rutland Polo Club for the Rutland Cup and the Twidale Cup!

Rutland Cup 4 goal:
The team played well holding themselves within just a few goals against a strong side from Ranksboro polo club however due to the handicap the team lost in the last chukka by half a goal!
On the Sunday we played White Rose polo club from East Yorkshire and once again after a tight game we lost 5-7!
Therefore not bringing the Rutland cup back after getting into the final of it last year!

 Twidale-Cup

May 7th and 8th The Patera Cup at Rugby polo club.

Jack Russell Polo took on a very strong team and after a very close game in the rain, slipping around everywhere we lost in the last few seconds 7-6 - gutted!
On Sunday we played in the subsidiary final, we did well throughout and ended up drawing the game 5-5.
Great shame that we didn't do better!

31st April The Made Cup at Rutland polo club.

Jack Russell win the Made Cup for a second year running at Rutland polo club!
The team played a local side over 2 days and won 13 to 7!
The game was very much controlled by the Jack Russell team on both days, which has led to a strong start to the season.
