Joyeux Noel

We've come over all Entente Cordial - well it is Christmas!
It is a small pine branch from our festive tree to the dear people across the Channel who seem to be so upset with us at the moment (which is such fun).
Rest assured relations have not yet thawed enough for us to start actually delivering to France.

We hope you still have some of the magic of Christmas in you even if you are at an advanced age. You need to remember being 8 years old in order to summon the memory.
There is probably a movie made in Hollywood explaining how Coca Cola invented Christmas, the same studio that decided Henry Ford invented the car and the US Navy decoded the Enigma machine, you know the one.
There is no doubt the yanks globalised the commercialism of Christmas - they are the greatest salesmen in the world after all and the greatest showmen - any grown man worth his salt cannot get through Capra's 'It's a Wonderful Life' dry eyed - come on admit it.

Visiting the Holy Land doesn't help at this time of the year as you have to approach Bethlehem through armed roadblocks and barbed wire - kinda missin' the point there.

No, the answer is in fact attending a Carol Service in the Oakham Castle (more of an ancient manor house) with a batty old Mayoress, some dodgy bellringers and Ruth on the electric piano - then retreating to an excellent English Hostelry called the Lord Nelson in the Market Square for some fine English Ales and great food.
Yes Christmas is best spent at home in the bosom of.....well any number of bosoms really.

For those of you working over Christmas, the Emergency services, the boys out in Camp Bastion and troops everywhere - we salute you.

This has been a Public Service Announcement from Jack Russell Clothing - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
